The United Nations has long recognized that the imagination, ideals and energies of young people are vital for the continuing development of the societies in which they live. The Member States of the United Nations acknowledged this in 1965 whenthey endorsed the declaration on the Promotion among Youth of the Ideals of Peace, Mutual Respect and Understanding between Peoples.

The organization works to enable youth to develop themselves to their potentialities and advocates with the government for youth centered policies. It undertakes research study on aspiration and problems of youth.
The organization strives to inculcate ideals of peace, communal harmony and community living and encourage youth to participate in politics and social development.
